Walking the Labyrinth: Come and Find the Quiet Centre
Spiritual disciplines are ways we give our bodies to unhurried rhythms of grace. They are ways we unhurry our souls before God.
Adele Ahlberg Calhoun in Spiritual Disciplines Handbook - Practices that Transform Us, pg. 20
I have been walking labyrinths for about fifteen years, and have found them to be a wonderful tool to intentionally set aside time in a sacred space to meet with God. A labyrinth is not a maze, as it has one path that leads us to the centre, and the same path that leads us back out to the world. There are no decisions to be made along the path, we simply put one foot in front of the other, or with a handheld labyrinth, simply follow the path before us.
