Ken Crofoot, Chair, Syrian Refugee Sponsorship Committee
Status: We have chosen a family and been successfully matched with a Syria Refugee family consisting of a 30 year old father, 24 year old mother, a two year old son and a baby son with a congenital heart defect requiring treatment.
Housing: We have secured a two bedroom apartment at 1286 Islington Ave (between Bloor and Dundas), effective February 15 for our family to live. We are hoping to move in everything we have collected on February 15 (Family Day) and are looking for volunteers to help with the move and the cleaning of the apartment. Please speak to or e-mail either Ken Crofoot or Ramona Matthews if you could help us.
Needs: We are collecting material that we know will be needed to outfit the family. Presently we are collecting furnishings, fixtures, and all items large and small that would be needed to make an empty apartment a home for the family. Please click here for an Updated Syrian Family Wish List. We are also collecting contacts for Arabic translators available to help with communication. Upon arrival we will need a number of people to be on a call list to be available during the day to escort the family to commitments and appointments.
Rev. Nancy Webb, Interim Executive Pastor
Welcome and thank you for visiting our website.
Kingsway Baptist Church is often fondly referred to as the “Kingsway family;” a family made up of people from all ages, various backgrounds and walks of life.
Our church is committed to reaching out in love to people in our community and beyond; to those who are searching for God and a deeper sense of spiritual connectedness. It is our desire to unite our community through the love of Jesus Christ.
We have a gifted ministry team that is ready to minister out of the passions of their hearts to those who come through the doors.
God’s presence is celebrated each Sunday morning at the 10:00 AM worship service led by a talented group of musicians supporting the Pastor’s theme for the day. God’s word is preached and life in community is celebrated as individuals feel a sense of belonging.
